CHM Members and their guests are invited to set out on a scenic one-mile hike along the Walt Schrader Trails, guided by an expert CHM interpreter who will identify and share information about local plants and wildlife along the way. After your hike, enjoy a hearty chili and cornbread meal – complete with all the fixings, tea, and your choice of a glass of hard cider or beer. Satisfy your sweet tooth with dessert from Nothing Bundt Cakes, then cozy up by a crackling fire as a storyteller brings “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” to life under the night sky. Join us for a fun educational evening at the Museum of York County as we explore lyrics and titles of Taylor Swift songs that tie to the museum’s collections and natural history. You’ll learn about animals that mate for life; make a mask based on animal markings and patterns; explore matriarchal societies in the animal world; examine the importance of scavengers; and scrutinize small but dangerous creatures. Additional activities include making Friends of Nature bracelets, scavenger hunts, and Epoch Tours of the Museum’s galleries. Light refreshments will be served.
